Douglas Klein

As a Builder: Douglas has contributed a lot towards Ontario Deaf Golf Association, both as a Board member as well as on several committees since 1979. He played 4 times for Canada Deaf Golf Championship, 5 th CDGC 2001, 7 th CDGC 2005, 8 th CDGC 2007 & 10 th CDGC 2011. Also, He participated in two World Deaf Golf Championship: 4 th World Deaf Golf Championship, 2002 in Dublin, Ireland. In the Men's Open category, he placed 63 rd and 6 th WDGC, 2006 in Edmonton, Canada. He placed 11 th in the Senior category. As a golfer as well a Board member, he has provided a strong leadership. He has a wonderful character and is influential. He has a positive attitude and is always encouraging fellow golfers to strive their best. He has a great sense of humour. He is always remembered for his trademark which is his cigar. He was inducted Ontario Deaf Golf Association Hall of Fame on September 16 th , 2012 during 50 th Annual Ontario Deaf Golf Tournament. I strongly believe Douglas is the best candidate to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. As a Board: The Ontario Deaf Golf Association since 1979 Was the Treasurer for 6 years. Was the Director of Tournament for 25 1/2 years

 

As a Golfer: He won several championships over 31 years of the Association: A one-time champion of "A" flight (Low Gross) A one-time champion of "B" flight (Low Net) A two-time winner of Low net in "A" flight A five-time winner of the Senior Men Champion He played 4 times for Canada Deaf Golf Association 5 th CDGC – London, 2001 Men’s Open – 14th place 7 th CDGC – Ottawa, 2005 Senior – 2nd place 8 th CDGC – Mont Tremblant, Quebec, 2007 – Senior – T 2nd place 10th CDGC – London, 2011, Senior – 10th place Two times for World Deaf Golf Championship 4 th WDGC – Dublin, Ireland Men's Open – 63rd place 6 th WDGC – Edmonton, Canada Senior 11th place
